36psi is my fav on my rx7 and 90' legacy, we set tire pressure at work on all customer cars at that, seem to not have any complaints

Alright One more bit of "crap" I gotta Throw in..if the tire is Properly inflated then it will have less of a tendency to rely on the Sidewall..it won't Roll the tire from side to side..If the Car is aligned Properly then your tires will wear evenly..Now,you can put whatever PSI you want in your Tires.NO Sweat of my Hiney.I am just trying to say that Proper inflation will allow you to get the Most out of the Tire(ie; Mileage and Fuel Consumption wise)..if you Run the Tires lower than recommended you are Allowing the tire to Roll back and forth and wear out the Sidewall tread..If you go Higher PSI,then normal, the Tire will Wear out Prematurely in the Center of the Tread..Honestly,there is Going to be so much different Points of view on the Do's and don'ts of Tires..and You can mostly find that Info if you go onto Sites that Specifically deal with Tires(ie;TireRack)..If they Sell them, they should Know..rather that have the Average Space Cowboy tell you that if you Run at 8 PSI,Once you get up to 200 KPH,the tire will be Round anyways, and will wear like a normal tire!

Styx - have to disagree with some of the above.

You want the sidewall to flex just enough while turning for the contact patch to shift to the edge for best grip.

Also, at high speeds with low pressure, the tire may appear to be round, but the sidewall is flatter at the bottom and normal at the top. This constant flexing will heat the tire up and get you a tire explosion. You will also not have enough air pressure holding the bead of the tire on to the wheel.

edit: how's the weather up there in smiths falls?

Weather Paulo?..it's colder than Nuts on a Steel Bridge!..The 8 PSI comment was a mental picture of a Dragster Doing a Burnout, and the Rear tires go from 'looking flat to Nice and Round"..and Yes,I know that the tire will shift and about the Contact area..Blah,Blah..But Having the Tire Pressure LOW,will make the car's Steering feel Spongy(I just don't know HOW to explain WTF I am trying to say!)..If you turn the steering wheel fast from left to Right, the car will go / ,\.../,\,/,\ Front to back..(Airplane AILERON FUNCTION..)..That is why I like to run the car's tires at the MAX..it takes the Swagger out,and with the power steering, you need more of a Direct steering feel...anyhow,I can't Fully Explain this anymore, than I have already Attempted to..
..so I am gonna bow out!..Damn computers, they Don't have any Way of showing a FRENCHMAN..animating his hands all over the friggin Place, staring at the computer trying to Project his Opinion"!..hahah!

It doesn't increase tread wear it makes it uneven. You'll get all the treadwear in the middle and none on the sides and then you'll have to replace your tires earlier even though you still have tread on the sides. You're not gonna notice it until you'd notice normal tread wear (1-2 years, maybe). But if it cuts the life of your tires in half, for example, I'd say that's a big deal.
