good price for MSD 6a?

guys wat would be a good price for a MSD 6a? I got a relative who works at a car parts place and I asked him if he could find a price for me since he gets like cost price or watever... and he told me $400 bucks canadian.... sounds a little high to me for a cost price. For u american boys thats about $330 american dollars. How much do they go for at the average store? I would call around and ask but its 2:00am and im curious to know...

thanks

matt

Well, Summit Racing sells MSD 6A's for $149.88 US (~$180 CDN.) You are getting seriously ripped off.

Ignition amp/controller. Only useful if you are spending a lot of time at the upper range of your RPMs, and helps stop spark break up at above 6000 RPM.

The MSD one is.

But don't think that it is gonna add any real HP or mileage increase on our cars. It only smooths out the spark at upper RPMs and idle.

One note on all those eBay units...be very careful with them.
The MSD 6A (or any CDI box) is a very delicate piece of electronics.
It's very hard to get a guarantee on DOA.
For the price, I'd rather get them from Summit for just a little more money and piece of mind.
Back in the day, we could get them for $50 to $70, but I dunno what is driving all the prices up on eBay for $100 or more!

Try MOPAC, in Surrey or Vancouver: they'l give you a better price.
If you want a price, I may be able to get you a bit of a discount, I know one of the guys at the Vancouver branch.
