Good price for 89 T2
Good price for 89 T2
I was just wondering what is a good price for a very clean 1989 Turbo 2
Close to mint condition, all original parts. NO Accidents
Seller said very low miles, but the tack is broken, so not sure how low.
Original exhaust/rims even tires.
Engine compartment and interior is very clean, still have stock airbox and the engine number plate on the firewall still have the clear plastic cover over it.

Ooohhh - broken tackometer - that's a red flag
If you think it's mint - go over it with a FINE tooth comb. Check the bodypanel seams, spare tire and jack compartments for rust, see if the pressed board jack covers in good condition, check the exerior trim pieces, check the frame under the car, check the front fiberglass wheel weels, check the plastic skid plate and rock guards under the car, check the nose for damange, verify the fog lamp assembly's not cracked, etc...
If your interested and it passes compression, spend at lease 3 hours by yourself going over it.
If all checks out - $6000 is a great price (assuming low engine miles).

Wow that is a lot of checking
THanks for the tips,
My bad the tach works. it's odd, the speed meter works too, but the mileage driven thing is broken, i think that is call the odometer. You think maybe he tried to turn it back manually and it broke?
The body is fine, but I will check on the spare tire thingie for rust. I didn't even looked in there.
Thanks
Tony

The tach takes a signal back from the trailing ignitor that runs through the stock ECU and then to the tach itself.

Hey Ted
This kind of baffles me. I replaced my Altenator and TPS and my tach started working. It only worked once or twice b4 now it works great, and my car runs great. It fixed my starting problem too. It was awsome, but was it the alternator that fixed all of it? It really wasn't dead just a little weak, and it looked old so I replaced it.
My car always seems to amaze me

"the tach won't effect the milleage, the speedo not working would."
I dont' see where the comparison between the tach and speedo came from?
