good price?

I was reading the paper the other day(mainly cause my friend at work told me there was an rx in it) and i see a classifieds ad: 88 Mazda Rx7 Gtu, 5 speed, black, cd, nice car. $1800

I call the guy. He acts almost like he knows nothing about rx's. Anyways, he says its got a/c, power everything, new cd player, and new tires(some crappy douglas wal-mart ones). But, i specifically asked him about some of the Rx7's quirks. No hesitations, no electrical problems, no nothing wrong... And its only at 120k on the Odometer.

Well thats all great, but it does have one problem. The clutch slips bad and the engine vibrates pretty bad. He said that he got it checked out by a mechanic, who probably doesnt know anything about rotaries. The mechanic said that a spring on the clutch must have popped out and thats what causes the horrible vibrations. The car hasnt been driven for about 2 weeks.

I have my own Rx7, so i was trying to talk my friend into calling the number and looking at the car. But, on my way home from getting some parts, i look to my right, and sitting by this guys house is a black gtu, and its all shiny and sexy and beautiful...

I want to know what you guys think.... good price or not?

Thanks...

GTU's only had a power sunroof and mirrors. No power windows or locks or seats.Car ust be a gxl.

I would suggest doing a compression check before purchasing this car.May have a blown rotor.
