hatch release

does anyone have any useful advice/diagrams on how to fix the inside hatch release? i tried searching, and looked thru haynes, but didn't find anything helpful, and i'm thinking it'd be helpful to have some sort of knowledge before i just start tinkering with things. it feels like the cable is snapped somewhere, since i feel no resistance when pulling the lever, but i really don't know for sure whats up.

it's fairly easy to pull back the carpet and such in the latch areas & take a quick look at the cable/ connections...

haha, i was wondering if i was the only one with this problem. My cable got stretched. What I do is pull the latch bar (in the actual hatch mech) as though you were pulling the lever up front. Then add a zip tie on the wire right before the steel ball.

In my case, I had to add two decent sized zip ties. Worked for about 8 months. I had to add another small zip tie last night, and it works fine again. I don't know if there is a way to adjust the mech at all.. but this way is a quicker fix...
