Question good el cheapo stock POV?

What would be a good stock POV to use? I want to be able to get one off a car in the boneyard. One that opens at say 11psi? Anyone know of a car that has this stock? Anyone know what the stock setting is on the POV for the 300z? How would I modify a stock valve to open up higher?

Thanks

You might want to try looking for a stock mkIV Supra BOV. My friend used his when he was putting out around 400hp. That should suit your needs fine.

by POV, do you mean pop off valve and not BOV (blow off valve)?

In basic terms it is similar to a blowoff valve. It has a set pressure that it will open at; however, it doesn't open from vacuum, but rather from positive pressure. It's a safeguard for your engine. If you get a wicked boost spike to 20 pounds the pop off valve will release and completely depressurize any boost you might have been making. Sure it will overspin your turbo, and the bearings might not like you for it, but I'd much rather put some wear and tear onto my turbo than toast my engine. Better safe than sorry especially applies to rx7's.

the 300zxturbo's did.
the Z31's people always weld them shut so they can crank their boost without the popoff valve opening then they detonate cause they are idiots and were running too much boost in the firstplace.

Early turbo cars often had POV's as stock. 12A Turbos have them. Usually they're set too low to be of much use on a modified car.

Note that POV's should only be used as a safety device, not for boost control.
