Good Deal I think
Well I am now a new Rx7 owner bought a 86 n/a for 300 bucks wich i think was a good deal the body has no rust and interior is not in bad shape. Needs a paint jop cause the clear coat is flaking off the hood and top of car. as for the engine it is all stock and does run just doesnt idle at all you can start it give it gas she will take off. you can rev it all day or hole the throttle to sta at 1g and will run let of throttle just die. has new plugs and wires. well been reading alot of stuff on here think i am going to change the fuel filter and the fuelpump boot fitler and do the ATF treatment and check the tps. probaly need the injectors cleaned. is there a way i can clean them or will they have to be taken out and sent some where or can a mazda dealer do it? so this i what i got to start with any input would be appreciated also the motor has 64k on it. it had been sitting for 7 months. i got it home threw a battery in it and check fliuds and cranked on it it flooded. removed plugs cranked it over a few times put plugs in it took off smoked a bit . so any help be appreciated.Chuck

Injectors can be taken to a local diesel shop or be sent out to be cleaned.
I'd check for a vacuum leak. That would cause it to stall under 1000rpm.
64k only a 20 year old car can be dangerous. It was probably babied and has carbon buildup. I'd do a compression check for general purposes. Even if the engine is shot (unlikely), you got a good deal at $300.
