Good buy of bad buy???

Hey guys this is my first post. I came here in for some help and knowledge. First off I have a 87 na that runs awesome but is in need of a makeover. I found a 88 10ae with a possible blown motor and around 104k miles. The body and interior of the 10ae needs some tlc but i could get it for $400 trailered to my house. I'm thinking of buying it and rebuilding that motor and transferring that into my na. Whats everyone's opinion. Should I or Not. The 87 na has 145k, great body, no rust, but should be rebuilt. Starts up at like 3k rpms, then once warms goes down to 1000-1100rpms. I have a project on my hands either way I go.. I've pontificated long enough, it's time to do something..

If you swap the motor you are going to need to swap the whole drive train as well.

I say fix the 10AE, probably worth more.

If you didnt know that is completely normal its the accelerated start up used to warm the engine up quicker. Seems like it would be alot of work to buy a car just to take out the motor from it. What are you gonna do with the shell? Plus that motors blown so its probably gonna need some money to rebuild depending on why its not running. Or maybe the guy doesnt really know rotoraries and the motors not blown. But anyway if your buying it just for the motor i would say dont just try and find a used motor for like 200 and send that out to rebuild. I picked up my t2 motor for 400 and my brother got an na for 200 you should search around if its only the motor your looking for.

fix the 10AE, the car is rare and you will enjoy the car in many ways. fix your car as well and enjoy it. dont gut that 10AE.

Ok the guy who has the 10ae is only 22yrs old also my age. I had my na for 5yrs. I just got down gutting the interior and swapping the passenger side seat to the drivers side lol. Anyways I fixed my idle on my N/a to a steady 750rpms . The 10ae i was told had a bad ecu the owner thinks. He said its like theres no power after 3500rpms. I'm thinking maybe its not blown just a turbo.. thanks for your replies guys. I'm learning something new everyday about fc's..

well, Keep the 88GTU and SLOWLY fix the 10AE until it's perfect. There is nothing better than haveing NA and Turbo at your disposal.
