I got stuck at wal mart the other day, had to buy a new batt there. 40 bucks back on the road.. I'm sure it will only last for like 1 year or so.

Well, it is an Everstart... think it's good?

I think my battery has 1000 cold cranking amps or so, came out of my 396 chevy truck, that thing could drive the rotary in gear for at least 10 miles :-D

I commonly move my GXL with the starter, that's why I was commenting on my 1000cca battery, that ****** will drive my FC all over the place hehe, I tried to shift gears once while doing this, that was funny :-D

I always get a Die Hard Gold, never had a problem. Some people like Interstates, but from my experience they suck...

I have an Optima yellow and it is great.

I had a bad alternator, drove from Atlanta to Jacksonville and the car still started the next morning!

I had just bought the battery right before driving back since the other battery would not turn the car over at all.

Do you just hate your starter, or is it something else that drives you to do this?

IMHO, get the best, most expensive battery with the longest warranty you can find. I bought the best battery available to me at the local autoparts store, and it has a great 3 yr free replacement, next two years prorated warranty. Ive replaced it twice, (my stereo sucks the life out of em), and each time they've replace my battery, for free, and have had to restart the warranty.

I have the Interstate red top (which is a optima red top with an interstate sticker on it, you can see the optima logo engraved next to it).

Why did i get it???

Interstate one give you better warranty and there are more interstate dealers around than specialty stereo shops, so if you need it replaced its much easier!

NO leaking or corrosion ever again!

Looks really cool!

3 year replacement gurantee!

Pro-rated after 3 years!

The red top is designed to replace a regular car battery. The deep cycle yellow top you are referrring to is not good for a primary battery (starting your car), but is awesome for a 2nd battery for a big stereo system and such.

Ill never go back to regular designs. Its "sealed" for me or nothing at all. Hope this helps you a little.

Technically, it shouldnt. Since the battery will only provide as many CCAs as the starter or other accessories demand of it.

I buy cheap wal-mart batteries myself. Batteries here in phoenix only seem to last 2 years no matter how expensive they are.

Plus even the best batteries still wont warranty them for over 24 months.. after that its "pro rated" which means you get $5 for it

Well, when you're pissed beyond reasoning and so fed up with the car you just want it do die, you'll do about anything, and it was fun at the time hehe :-D Starter still works too, amazing! If only my engine was the same... I think I put more distance with the starter on my car than with the engine! :-D
