If you decide to go that route, do it properly, cutting the corners will bring you back your V8 ideas, and blaming the engine won't be a good argument. There is so much support, videos, and build thread that you should really succeed.
Is it a full swap ?
I personally had two engines that weren't even blown and I still had parts that needed to be replaced.
Out of two engines one rotor was good and none of the eshafts were usable either, though one could have been used it wasn't ideal, same with one of the three rotors that were bad, could have been used but wasn't ideal.
Its hard to say how good anything is until you've taken it apart and even then only someone with experience rebuilding can see something someone else would have overlooked and thought was fine.
If you do decide to rebuild you should have someone with experience building a 13b helping you every step of the way so you don't make a rookie mistake.
