ok, so i get in the turbo II this morning, left to go to work, and cant shift into 5th. pretty crappy. heres some background:

the tranny has always ground going into 5th, ever since i bought the 87 turbo(rip). however, i quickly learned that if you just eased it into gear all slow like, it wouldnt grind. im talking like grandma slow, 5 sec. shift. so thats what i've been doing the last year without any problems.

my daily driver is an mr2, i drive it during the week cause i drive to work, about 20 miles, then to school, which is 35mi one way, and the mr2 gets 29mpg, and cost around $18 to fill up, so its saves some serious cash. i drive the mazdas on the weekends, cause well, they're much funner. i drove the turbo last weekend with no issues.

when at a dead stop, it'll engage 5th fine. any type of forward motion, no such luck. it so happens that im going to tech school for automotive, and we just happen to be doing manual trans. i'm betting on the 5th gear syncronizer blocking rings being bad, so i have a new class project. i'll be dropping the tranny this weekend (had to do the exhaust anyway, emissions time), but what i need to know is where can i get tranny parts, and are there any upgrades? i couldnt find any info in my brief search (im at work, bossman keeps walking by...) but if someone could direct me to a online tranny parts store, or any type of upgrade info, that would be wonderful. im guessing i can probobly get parts at a dealer, but theres not a mazda dealer anywhere close by, plus im sure that would be pricey, and i am a multiple FC owner, we all know what that means.... i need to get stuff ordered asap, so i can have new parts by next week.
