Going Pass 4000 rmps!!

I've been having problems trying to get power when i pass 4000rpms.. Cuz when i'm driving i rev the engine til about 3-3.5 rpms(in1000s).. but i just wanted to see how fast i can go one time in my 4th gear and when i reach 4000rpms the engine is movin but i lose the power.. anyone know how to get that power?

what i did to try and fix problem
K&n air filter charger (replacing stock paper one)
Mazda spark plugs

that's about it..
Any thing else i can to.. to gain more power when i reach 4rpm?

You only rev to 3500? Poor car! You need to let that thing loose sometime! Try hitting 7500 RPM all the way from 1st to 3rd gear. Anyways...I would say your problem is ports or a severely clogged exhaust.

woahh!! slow down, many other things can cause a lack of power above 3800rpms.. in n/a's its usually the 5th and 6th ports not opening. in my t2 it was my secondary injectors not firing..

dont just jump out and tell the guy his engine is gone...

LOL yoblink! Cloead...I would think your engine would blow pretty quickly if your secondaries weren't coming online. Did you end up losing the engine?

Check, your plugs and plug wires as well. They are cheap to replace and probably need it if you don't know the last time they were replaced.

luckily no.. but the thing is without the secondaries firing the car hits a wall at 4000 rpm and bucks like crazy.. so i never went there..

If you are saying you can't get past 4000 rpms in 4th, I would think the problem is with the secondary injectors.

If you can get past 4000 rpms in 4th but just lack "power", then I would look into the 5th&6th ports.
