Cool Going nuts with my convertible. (aka will this work)

So I have been debating things for a long time now and I dunno that I can sell my convertible. I have found a viable parts car to do a complete Turbo-II swap. The only problem is that the donor car is an 87 and my vert is a 91. What are the myriad issues that I might face doing the work to put this together. Keep in mind I am a shade tree mechanic of some skill, but not unlimited by and means. What has to be changed, what won't fit, what won't line up, etc. Thanks a bunch in advance.

Ben

Electricals will be your biggest challenge...

and, most would probably try and talk you outa it.

BUT if you get it done, and it ends up right, you just increased the value of your Vert by about $3,000. BUT, the ends up "right" is the key.

I'll be the first to try and talk you outa this challenge except maybe sell your S5 for most amount you can. Then , find a '88 Vert and have at it.

Good luck.

it would be much much easier with an 89-91 turbo engine....

Here is a decent link to some info on your questions. If you haven't bought the parts car yet, don't. Keep looking for a series V donor. Your swap can be done though with an aftermarket ecu I believe.

yeah its best that way, what you were considering would take a lot of work.

Well, it could be done... the drivetrain would be a good start... and then a Series V ecu and harness, and the older engine with Series V throttle body, etc... lots of work. Get a Series V car for a donor.
