Talking Go clean your injectors!! NOW

I know this is all common knowledge and i'm just bored at work anyway.

But for those of you with horrible gas mileage on a pretty stock car (if heavily modified, i figure you don't expect to get great gas mileage anyway) CLEAN YOUR INJECTORS.

Once I bought the car, I did all tune up maintenance (except for the coolant flush). But I was simply getting 16mpg even with a lot of highway mileage. That day I read a thread about cleaning injectors and long and behold, now i am now capable of 22 mpg (mixed highway/city). After I only used like 2 bottles of concentrated Techron fuel injector cleaner. Imagine what actually cleaning and blueprinting the injectors might yield! ***And my O2 sensor isn't even connected!

All those similar stories, please add your input and list prices and where you got your injectors cleaned!!!!

My mpg is horrible even after a new 02 sensor, fuel filter, etc, etc. Where did you buy that injector cleaner from? I figure I'll give it a try...

Do it right...Have the injectors serviced by an injection shop. Normally, fuel injector cleaner is just snake oil. Injector cleaning is normally only about $25 per injector. The result is an injector that is basically like new.

You can get fuel infector cleaner in a bottle at any parts store, I've had especially good luck with Techron (by chevron) Fuel Injector Cleaner. But any brand should due. ~$7-9

But if you really want to get you injectors clean, you will have to take out your injectors and send them to a shop that cleans and blueprints them. A lot more expensive.

Not to mention that if you have your injectors cleaned, you can find out an interesting fact or two. For instance, me being a newbie to having my engine rebuilt, I got a call from Marren Fuel Injection that two of my injectors were the wrong impedance--the primary injectors. It was no problem since I added two 10 Ohm/10watt resistors to my ECU harness once I found out, but it definitely explains why my front rotor blew--running lean apparently.

does anybody have any info for somewhere i can send my injectors? 12 bucks a piece is damn cheap, i'll just send off the two extra primaries i've got in the garage. i think this is why my car is flooding when its heatsoaked.
