This is whu it cannot be melted after tempering.

I can do lexan myself.
Ill go to the store and get the materials.
I think it will yellow inside of a year though!
and itll have to have an edge machined onto it to accept the rubber seal around the edge.
As far as slumping glass to the metal frame, ill ask, but i think the metal would contaminate the glass surface at the slumping point.
I am unsure of what surface can be used to slump a large area like this.
I will ask.

**If it's discountinued**
I'M sure they still have the tooling to make them
n the only way to get them to make more
is to offer them a mass purchase
Therefor we will probly need a group buy and found out how many we will need to buy, for them to produce them again.....

I would pay $400 for one tonight. Hopefully we can get them cheaper than that .... but I am in on a group buy for sure. When I dropped them a E-mail I added "If you do not still make this product do you know anyone who does, or may have some original ones in stock" maybee they have a distributor in bum-fug egypt that is sitting on 10 of them haha one can dream.

Yeah, if I like the fit I will keep the glass one to make molds of a plastic one for myself and others. Then when I wreck my car I can sell the glass roof and use the $$ to finally buy a non sunroof base model chassis to put all my goodies on!
There are some much more scratch resistant plastics now than Lexan- and the race window companies do custom replicating. We will have to look into that...Ian

i just took my moonroof apart to clean and lubricate it.
There is a big metal subframe that looks like crap without some sort of cover for it.
Where do we get THOSE?!

Look at the pics VaughC posted. The inside shot of the roof closed. It appears you ditch the subframe and just keep the parts at either side of the panel? I plan to ditch the whole retracting crap for some weight savings and eventually roll cage clearance, so who knows what I will come up w/. I am thinking some thing using 1/4 turn wingnut fastners.

(if the pic posts) These are from one of my glass moon roofs that I was going to sell a while back, but had second thoughts on that.

Heard from Saratoga, I have a call into them now to discuss a limited production run.

make sure to find out how many purchases would be needed for them to make them again...
