Gilmer pullies on daily driven (but modified) TII?
underdrive pulleys are a waste. 20 year old FC's already have pathetic charging systems and you are stressing them further. They spin the accessories (like waterpump, which can cavitate) slower when you are turning high rpm on a race track but that's it

I do like the design of the Gilmer set but like arghx you will have negitive effects on your charging system during idle and up to around 1500 rpm.
Unless you are at the track every day, underdrive pulleys will not help you out.
If your vbelt is slipping and breaking at high rpms, then you have another problem on your hands other then the type of belts you using.

As stated above, Gilmer gears are not underdrive gears so there will be no negative charging effects. The upside to them is obviously the look, sound, and certainly no worries of slipping. Downside would be the cost and the belt. I'm not sure what other parts you would have to source...the pulleys are going to fly apart so the only sourcing worry is the belt.
jees people need to learn how to read and quit spouting bull **** like under drive crap. Do you even know wtf the point of an under drive system is for? No so shut up.
If you are not ruing AC and PS want to burn a few dollars get an extra belt go for it. Do what makes you feel good.

The main purpose of an underdrive pulley is to avoid cavitation of the water pump at prolonged periods of high RPM driving. Getting a stock ratio main-alt pulley setup is probably the best for at idle alternator output, having a different ratio will most likely have a negative effect on the voltage at idle.
I love mine. It was funny to watch my tuner try and figure out where that whining noise was coming from HAHAHA.
BTW if you run the belt too loose weird things happen
. Watch the dyno vid in my sig and you can really hear what they sounds like.

Good thing the Tweakit kits aren't underdriven. My car isn't going to be seeing any sustained high RPM driving anyways, so the cavitation isn't much of an issue to me. Just the occasional track day and maybe some 1/4 mile runs. Mostly just a fun, unique street car.
I'll buy it, but experiences will have to wait a bit. Car goes down stock for an oil leak, and gets put pack together with a plethora of mods. Months later. That's usually how I roll lol.
