Ghetto Water Injection?

I was thinking about water injection, and that little sub zero start up bottle came to mind (the bottle on the far left corner of the engine bay), has any one thought about wiring a switch to it and filling it with some water, and hitting that when you want "water injection"? i know its kinda "Ghetto" but, would it work? i have tried the water trick instead of ATF with good results. Just thinking, let me have your input/comments about this. Have Phun

You need fairly high pressure, and a nice nozzle, the water has to very finely atomized otherwise it will really kill power.
I guess the resevoir itself will work, but that's only a small part...
The cold start assist isn't really designed to be going through the engine for any length of time, just to make sure no ice forms initially in the intake (I think...)

Well, what i was thinking, if it could get the water to the "dynamic chamber", it could work just like the water trick i use. What i do is run a vac line to a vac line nozzle on the outside of the dynamic chamber and let the vacume suck up the water, i was thinking if i can get that subzero start assist to just get the water to that, i could use a spare vacume nozzle barb thing and just have it suck the water in sorta like the water trick. I dont know, just messing around and thinking. Thanks for your input.
now that im thinking, maybe use a spare oil noozle? just thinking again.

I'v done something similar, but mine sprays the Intercooler.
I have not tested it with any air temp guages though to check its improvement. Although water temps are down underhard driving.
I used an Agricultural spray nozle the kind youll find spraying vegies at the super market, there plastic w/brass insert and are cheep really cheap.....

Later...

The vacuum will suck too much when you don't want it (lift throttle/coast) and too little when you need it (WOT). You need the opposite, water in on WOT and no water on lift throttle.

Hence most water injection systems monitor vacuum and don't dump any water in until you are under 5 inches vacuum.

Why do you want water injection on an NA? If youre detonating that thing, you have much bigger problems

im not really after water injection, its just an idea. No, im not detonating, i just like the 'water trick" and would kinda like to have it at finger tip, and, it brings engine temps down a good bit. Nothing really serious, just for fun, im always looking for new things to tinker with and thought that the "sub zero start assist" could be used for something By the way, could someone tell me how it really works and what its supposed to do? i mean, the name is kinda self explainitory, but, i dont understand how coolant, or water could help you start your engine, oh well, thanks guys. Please bear with me, im learning, haha

It just squirts antifreeze into the intake to prevent icing. Its the first thing I take off an RX-7 once I get it home.

that, in a way is a good idea, but.... seems kinda pointless
that is now on my "to get rid of" list, or my "mod it to be useful", thanks man

I got mine to run, after cleaning the motor and such, pain in the butt. It only spits out a little fluid then stops, there's a little valve in it that shuts off the exit hole of it when just a little fluid gets out. Run whatever right from the pump outlet, not from the valve thing in the top of the tank (that's what allows only spurts at a time)

But yea, it's probably full of gunk with a frozen motor anyway.
