Getting ready for a show...

Ok, I'm stuck in this dilemma. I'm trying to choose which car I want to put in a show coming up in May.

I have my 86, I absolutely love the color, the suspension, tinted windows, etc. etc. It was my first RX-7 and I'm just in love with the car. Needs Paint and alot of interior work. The windshield has a very small crack on the passenger side from a rock kicked up on the highway that I won't have time/money to fix before the show. Car has electrical bugs. Motor has high mileage. Rear window has peeling tint. Sunroof is broken.

I have the 87. It has S5 crap, and needs body work. I'm not fond of the color. The interior is in great shape, and a low mileage factory reman motor is already in the car. Car has some electrical bugs. Vented headlight scoop. Decent interior. Needs body work (huge dent on passenger side and in roof).

I think that the Turbo II rims look 100% better on the 86 with the blue paint than the 87 with the silver paint. I photoshopped the TII wheels onto the silver one for comparison. They will be the rims I'll be working with.

One of the 2 cars is going to be a Turbo 6 port. Depending on the compression numbers on the 86 (170k+ miles), using the 86 as the show vehicle could possibly mean swapping engines between the 2 cars.

So here's the 2 cars. Of course whichever gets the turbo gets the paint matched TII hood. Looking for opinions on the vehicles, paint/body etc. Whichever is going to the show is getting shaved (molded), a stock spoiler molded to it, and a quick paint job. Paint will match exact color of the car getting painted, so I can avoid door jam/engine bay painting.

Not going to the show to win awards, just showing the car off for my local car club.

First set of pictures is the 86 (blue) and second set is 87 (silver)

Like I said, no plans to win. Either car will get alot of work done to it before the show, so what you see is not what you get.

The silver one actually has the 5 fin GXL rims. I think they're fugly. I'm also not a fan of "bling bling" rims. You'll never catch one of my vehicles with shiny rims on it. It'll never happen. Those TII rims are the flashiest thing these cars will ever see.

The blue one is my choice also, I love the color. Electrical bug wise, most of them can be solved by swapping the dimmer switch between the two cars. Basically, I'm going to take all the best things from one car, and put them on the other. Unfortunately, the silver has most of the "good" shape interior items, but I don't like it nearly as much.

The blue electrical problems are interior (dome lights, clock, etc). The silver one has electrical problems under the hood (secondaries are being a bitz, and doesn't hold a charge very well)

1SxyRxy other than fresh paint, what's wrong with the vehicles? And don't say flashy rims...
