getting my FC very soon, need advice
firstly, what should i check for while im inspecting the car? im having a rotary shop look at it so i dont think i have to worry to much, but if theres anything you guys know about then tell me
. Secondly, the car is a 91 with 70k miles, what types of things should i replace? brake pads, clutch, springs, anything at all? Thirdly, are there any good free mods to do when i get it except for gutting the cats? Thanx

at 91K you probably have 20% life left in the OEM setup. Usually around 115-120K you notice it getting to bouncy.
An exhaust upgrade will definitly help. Just gutting the cats will help, but your introducing turbulance by doing it. Going with a downpipe to eliminate the pre-cat, performance main cat, and a catback exhaust will net you a smoother torque/acceleration curve.
You'll probably notice the engine stubmling a bit over 6500rpms with the OEM setup. Not enough flow after 85K
After this just the usual 60K service/full tuneup, fuel injector cleaning, etc..
Full allignment & balance will definitly help as well.
Go with readline synthetic in the trans & rear diff, but keep 10w30 in the engine.

First check is for smoke. A little when cold is OK, but apart from that is usually not good (unless it is black - all fuel - which is mostly just bad plugs or tune).
Check for water in the oil, oil in the water, unusual tyre wear patterns, rust, oil leaks...
Usually, if the car is pristine, it has been serviced too - but not always
If you're not confident with what you're looking for/at - take a mechanic with you who knows rotaries.
Good luck!
Cheers,
Dave
