just take a razor blade/boxcutter/knife and slit the pipe lengthwise, along the top of the heater core inlet/outlet... start away from the pipe and cut towards it... then just peel it back... if you are feeling really ghetto, the hose can normally be fit back on (by slicing off the damaged section...) but it'll be a lot more likely to rub something...

Get a pair of channel locks and wrap it around the hose, not too hard , dont crush the pipe.

Just twist it back and forth and itll break loose.

Best bet are hose pliers. They are like needle nose pliers that have a opening at the end that's curved. You can put it around a hose, squeeze it tight, and twist the pliers back and forth to break the hose free. They're REALLY handy.

BTW, be careful with the pipe coming out of the firewall - it's soft copper. If you end up deforming it a bit, make sure to bend it back into shape before re-assembly to insure a leak-free fit.

DO NOT PULL, TWIST, or YANK on that hose!!! you will break the heater hose pipe, they are so weak. cut it off. cut 2 or so cuts from the end alone the pipe past where the metal ends. then replace it with a new one. they always blow anyways. they should be replaced often.

if you damage the heater hose pipe. you have to remove the whole dash to replace. a few days of fun...
