getting extremely low gas mileage
getting extremely low gas mileage
A while back my car was heavily flooded, after fixing it, I got new spark plugs, a new clutch, and now some 17 inch rims and tires.
Lately, I have been noticing that I am getting really poor gas mileage. I have to put in like about 5 dollars a day and thats because the fuel light keeps coming on. From 5 dollars, I get about 2.7 gallons of 87 octane, and that lasts me only about a little less than 20 miles.
The car drives good still, but I was wondering if something could be blown, like a seal or if one of the rotors are bad. My friends also said it could be a result, of a bad o2 sensor, an exhaust leak, or a bad fuel filter. I also performed a search and thats what came up. I was just trying to make sure that the motor itself is not bad.

You will know when you motor goes bad you will feel your car's obvious lose in power and also hear the engine dieing its a very obvious noise when a rotor goes LIKE MINE !!

REally bad milage from normal RX7 milage.....might very well be a bad LEAD/COIL/IGNITOR. While at idle, slowly, and I mean slowly and carefully, pull either LEAD plug wire out of its coil hole. Just enough to see the end of the wire. There should be a lotta sparking a gonin on there. No spark a goin on means a probably dead coil/ignitor. Do this after the car is fully warmed up and maybe driven for a few miles.
Don't bother looking at the TRAIL wires and coils. Waste of time, especially if your tach is working and both wires are going where they should.
