Getting creases off interior pieces

I have some interior pieces like door panels and a glove box even that have small indentations in them from something being left to sit on top of them and I was curious if there's a method or trick to easing the material back out, or maybe just lessening the spot of the mark at all?

use a heat gun or hair dryer to lightly heat the spot. It should pop back out

That sort of defeats the purpose when I'm trying to sell the panels and glove box.

I'll give the dryer a shot tonight, just gotta find somebody I know with a hair dryer that'll let me experiment.
