Im stuck on which to get, either a pair of magnaflow or RB mufflers, or the header/collector. My exhaust is stock manifold thru 2.25" or 2.5" pipe straight to Y-Pipe then oem-style mufflers. I dont really like the sound that much, so which should i get both for performance/sound? I plan to eventually get both as well as all new 2.5 inch piping.

 

headers and presilencer from racingbeat. Worry about catback when you have more money for it.

 

Anyone else wanna voice on this? again its stock manifold to straight pipes then to oem mufflers. i would like more than one response.

All the RX-7's I've heard with straight pipes sounded like a pack of bees. If you don't have to comply with emissions, atleast get the presilencer.

 

RB Header + Presilencer.

Car will sound like poop with a stock catback either way. You could always save up and get a good catback with bigger mufflers (Racing beat, Greddy). These aren't the cheapest though.

Or you could always get a local shop to fab up another setup from the presilencer back. It will be loud as hell though.

I've only heard a few good sounding NA's with an uncorked exhaust.

Don't use generic mufflers (midas etc) They will fall apart under the rotary's hotter and more violent exhaust.
