general rex questions

hey everyone. i finally got my project, paid a 100 bucks for my 87 non turbo a couple small problems. From the waterpump out all the components are off the engine and the person lost the bolts. the transmission is out of the car and sitting in the back, (also no bolts for the mount and also no driveline). Before it was all taken apart it did run and everything is there. except the bolts to everything i dont know too much about the value of these cars not running so if anyone reads this that knows, did i get ripped off?

btw the car is in perfect shape inside and out and it has new wheels and tires

Dude, you made a STEAL on that car. In excellent condition, these cars are worth around 2K (yeah, the NA versions).

I would get that car together as fast as you can, though, and make sure that the motor DOES indeed run. There's plenty of people in your area that can help you, but I'm sure that buy reading the FAQs and whatnot, you can figure it out yourself.

I'm not sure about second gens, but for FB owners, the HAYNES shop manual is something to keep with you at all times, a life saver even.

Good luck!

cool

im glad i didnt get ripped. i was just kinda bummed cause who ever took it apart lost all the bolts so i have to pull them off my parts car or go to the scrap yard. currently i have a complete engine sitting in my friends garage tranny and all. so all my bolts are there. i found the transmission for the car in the back under the hatch and a piece of carpet after i bought it. :eek

ps does anyone know much about these cars emission stuff. california is kinda strict about it and i have a friend with an 86 and he smogged and got tagged as a gross polluter
