gears on 88 auto and 86 manual??

Hey all, kinda new round here and need some advice. I have an 88 gxl non turbo with an auto. at work we got an 86 gxl non turbo with a manual and i was wondering what parts i would need to change the gearing to the 4.10 and was just wondering if i need the whole carrier or if i can get away with just putting in the gears. and if i need the whole carrier do i need the half shafts or do the splines line up between auto and the stick. thanx in advance.

just swap the differential assembly.

The drive shafts will all mate right up.

1st will be a little quicker with your auto, but you will get worse gass mileage.

You might want to go ahead and swap the manual in. The automatics are a huge pain in the ***. Believe me, that's not just my opinion.
