Gear problem

I just recently got done switching out the flywheel by myself.
(Woo go me. Took me like 8 hours but hey, it should be faster next time)

Now, a week later, I ran into another problem:
When I try to get into 1st gear, I can't get into gear unless I literally smash the gear into place. Oh and also, when it gets into 1st gear, it acts like an automatic and starts to move by itself, so I have to hold onto the clutch and the brake at a red light. ******* ridiculous.

AND when i try to get into reverse, all I hear is this disgusting grinding noise that just seems to pierce my ears.

Can anyone help me with where these problems are coming from? Thanks.

Sounds like you may have damaged the pilot bearing, and it's now locking onto the input shaft.

why not just put in neutral at a redlight instead of holding the clutch and putting more wear on it?

Damaged the pilot bearing?

I replaced the pilot bearing from my previous cracked one though. :[

And I don't want to leave it in neutral at a red light because I'm afraid of when it'll turn green. It takes me a good 5 - 10 seconds for me to shove it into gear. It's that bad.

Check your slave cylinder to see how much movement you have at the plunger/fork.. Possible you just need to re-bleed the clutch assembly.,

I don't think bleeding the clutch is gunna help.

Thing is, once I get moving from 1st gear, the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gear all work like they normally should. It's only when I'm going from a stop into 1st gear or reverse, that I'm getting these annoying problems.

Im having the same issue with mine except that holding the clutch in and the brake just results in a stalled out car. I ordered new slave and master cylinders with steel lines from mazdatrix and im gonna see if that fixes my issue.
