Gauges went out while driving at night!

Ok now this freakin' tripped me out! As I was driving my gauges went out! Now is there a replaceable light bulb?

could be a blown room fuse, check if when u turn on ur head lights if ur exterior lights are on if not then fuse.

Headlight switch and/or connector. Try tapping on the switch to see if any change.
I purchased my S5 TII new and probably 5 or 6 times over the years the dash lights have gone out, but a with a little convincing they came back on. Probably hasn't happened in the last year though.

ok the problem is where the plugin goes to the switch, could it be jus the wiring going bad, but I doubt that, or should I jus check the fuse box for the gauge fuse. It flickers on and off when I unplug and plug it back in but I don't know....

The same thing happened to me. It was my light switch. I just wired it up to bypass the switch so the dash lights would come on when ever the key was in the on position, rather than replace the expensive switch.

How much does the switch usually cost?

Because I can find one for cheap no doubt, haha

I think Mazda quoted me around $600 Canadian. Used will be much cheeper especially it you get one from somebody, who doesn't know what it is worth, but it's common for various functions on these switches to fail, so beware of what you buy. There are also fixes you can find on the internet, if you are knowledgeable with electronics.
