Question gauge problems

i bought an aftermarket oil pressure guage, and after i had already installed the gauge in the dash section,i realized the pressure sender would not fit because it is to fat,the threads are right, but the body of it is to fat.will the stock sender work with an aftermaket gauge>?or does the gauge and sender have to be made for eachother?i was going to use the stock sender for a couple days till i can buy another sender.

I do not think the stock sender will work with the Aftermarket gauge..... At least for other cars it won't work, thats for sure. I wouldn't use it until someone else can give you some better info... Let me ask you a question:

What brand gauge/sender for the replacement?

They make a part which will screw on where the oil filter goes which allows for after market senders to be screwed into it. (Oil pressure/temp) You could use that and leave your stock sender in place... Otherwise you might be able to find some sort of reducer, which will go in the stock location, and use it like that... Or drill it out and rethread it the size needed.... (personally i would avoid that one... and use the part for the oil filter...) That item can be found here: http://www.fcstore.com/inc/pdetail?v=1&pid=432
Its called a: Oil Filter Pedestal

Thats about all the info I know myself.
Hope its of some use.
