Gauge pods great location any thoughts?

I was thinking of making a 5 gauge pod that would fit along the top of the windshield keeping it high enough to remain legal and have wrap into the a pillar. I figured it would be easy to check and out of the way. would need a window banner or dark tint to keep it from being visible (looking stupid wires and lines all over) from outside. Any thoughts or ideas?

So I guess you will be removing the visors. It should be pretty easy to make out of stainless.

IMO it is a horrible location but that is just my 2 cents(which you asked for ) still blocks view, removes the visor and is too distracting pulling too much of your focus from the road.

its all good

Dont need to remove visor, 2" guages, mounts mostly to windshield and I was thinking fiberglass. I am also a little short so for those of us under 5'6" it really is not a visibility issue, but if your pushin 6' then it might be in your way. there is about 3 1/2" of useable height legally

I think it's not a terrible idea. Consider wrapping it up into the corner between the windshield and the ceiling such that the gauges can angle down better. And a decent backing on the cluster should work just fine.

I like the idea of removing the visor for visibility in general. I've never found visors to be that useful.

u gotta open up the moonroofs.....

honestly i dont think its a good idea...u'll need to see those guages when ur moving fast...so any location that makes u take ur eye off the road is a bad location.....the A-pillar is as far as i'd go....

Thumbs up

Which gauges were you thinking of? Get the dual gauge pod and the DIN triple gauge holder that they offer on this forum. This way it's cleaner and less hassle. I for one think gauges on the windshield would be to bulky and take up too much visual space.

But if your into making custom mods, your idea would certainly be unique. Good luck and post pics of your progress and finished product.

looking to put in exhaust temp, boost, oil pressure, water temp, air temp with 4 position switch to select either outside air, pre IC, post IC, and at inlet elbow. And yes I am very into custom mods I did convert my10th Anniversary to RHD.
