Gauge/Gauge Pod Questions....

I'm in the market for a boost, and a/f gauges, but i'm going to need to save up for my exhaust and everything, so I don't have much to spend. Do they all pretty much carry with them the same preciseness, and its just a matter of style choice?

Another thing regaurding a-pillar pods. I was looking at the autometer pillar gauge pods (dual ones) and I couldn't really get a good view of it, so I was wondering if anyone had pics of theirs that they could show me. Also, the dual one wouldn't interfere with the automatic seat belt track would they?

Thanks in advanced

I think so, i'm not sure if they are made exactly for the FC, or they are just generic things that bolt on top and don't look very clean, thats why I needed some better pics of them.

eah, i dont like those pillar pods, one option is to get the greddy strap mounts and get rid of your idiot cluster and put a couple in there, thats what im planning on doing.

I really want to see how a lot of these gauges look lit up, but they don't have lots of pics like that

How cheap do you think these gauges are? I want them so I can use the red LED option so it matches the car, but I cant find any air/fuel gauges that have that kind of lighting to go with it. Maybe i'll just go with white gauges with blue lighting, seems to be easier to find them with those characteristics.

Is there any real difference between the cheap and expensive one other than looks? If there isn't, i'll just go with some cheapy good looking ones that will fit my likings, but if precision is a factor, let me know so I don't end up getting false readings.

don't waste your money on an air / fuel gauge. others are more important. I don't think the autometer dual pod works with the auto belts.

Actually, it does, but it dosen't fit too well. I had an AUtometer pod on mine and it needed some coaxing to get on correctly.

I have to say that
#1 a boost gauge is more important than exhaust. Spend your money there. That should be the FIRST mod anyone with a turbo car should buy.
#2 cheap gauges are not as good as nice electronic ones. Sorry, but when it comes to something that can save your car, spending a little more sounds like a good investment to me. Plus, from what I have read/heard AUtometer gauges are not the most relaible. I could be wrong, because I didn't run Autometers. I ran a company that got bought out and it has been so long since I ahd my car, I don't even remember the company name.

Agreed. I sprang the extra dough for an Apex'i gauge (past exp. with apex'i = good quality items.). The rest of my gauges are autometer and they seem to work fairly accuratly however I have no way of telling without having an actual calibration unit. The thing i like about the apex'i is that you can mount it right on your ignition column.

Will the single pod work fine with the belts? Should I just spend a few extra bucks on an A/F gauge for safety, or not even bother?

So you've alreay removed the low oil/coolant buzzer, and now you're going to remove the low oil/coolant warning lights too? Do you really think that's smart?

Ocelot, if you want quality without the Japanese pricetag, have a look at VDO.
