gathering interest for fd uim adapter group buy

i was talking to TT_Rex_7 about getting an adapter made to use the fd upper on an fc lower and the option of a group buy came up.

if we could get these for say $125 or less, how many guys would be interested? if there's enough, we'll try to get a group buy together.

I'm in. Things people should know/consider before committing about the estimated total cost for the full conversion

- $125 adapter
-$150? FD UIM/TB
-?? FD throttle cable
-$150?? Greddy elbow
- gaskets

That's getting gonna be around $400-$500 with those estimates for people who dont know.

Pricing for the adapter will be $125.00 for 1-5 buyers, $115.00 for 6-10 buyers, and $105.00 for 11+ buyers.

We'll also be selling other flanges in the group buy such as header flanges, turbine flanges (T3, T4, etc.) and so on.

I'll post up some pictures of previous flanges that i've done a little later today!

So did you guys solve the problem of getting an FD TPS to work on an FC harness? Is there an adaptor for that? Otherwise this group buy is only going to be worthwhile for the standalone guys.

And with a little bracket, you can use an N/A throttle cable. FYI.

I believe so, I'll try and take pics when I get home, I've got an FD TB that has the bracket so it can be used with an N/A throttle cable.

yea, use an ems

he just pm'd me about a possible adapter so you can bolt an fc throttlebody onto the fd manifold. i've basically assumed that if you're doing this mod, you probably have an ems--or at least some way to tune to maximise the use of the fd manifold, otherwise what's the use?? just bling?

To help lower the cost of the whole conversion, i'll be willing to offer a TB adapter so you can use the FC TB with the FD UIM, but only if the intrest is high.

LT8S here, so I dont need a stupid pigtail... I'd like to take advantage of that S6 TPS. I hear they are much more accurate.

^ it's nice to have a throttle pump at higher throttle positions. that can help eliminate any stumbling or hesitations you might have when doing say a heel-toe downshift or somthing like that.

How much would you want for a TB adaptor? I've already got an FDUIM to go to the s5 LIM, but standalone is currently out of my budget.

Are you running FMIC? If so, I would use the S6 TB regardless. I am almost positive that other stock ecu's (S4/S5) can be easily wired to use that TPS. The feed adapter included a little wiring pigtail so it could connect to the stock wiring... I would have to assume that means there are no major electrical wiring changes between the two sensors.

i can make the pigtail, but finding fresh, brand new connectors is the hard part.

I am guessing allot of people that would be into this...would already have a FMIC on their TII.

What would be the options on making the greddy fmic kit work with the FD UIM/tb?

Pictures

Prob be cheaper to buy weatherpack connectors to make that work. I am guessing it is a three wire sensor?

Not much at all. I just have to see an FC TB to see what's involved with making the adapter. I'd say ~$25.00-$30.00 for the group buy. However, keep in mind, this is a rough estimate until I get my hands on an FC TB!

Its a 4 wire sensor more similar in shape to the bottom image than the top. IE, the 4 wires are laid out in a row, instead of at the corners of a square shape.

I leave work in about an hour, I'll try and remember to get pics then. Subscribed to the thread earlier today so my home email should have plenty of reminders .

All I would need is a pigtail. I've got an s5 LIM/s6 UIM+TB. The intake manifolds are portmatched, so I do not need a manifold adaptor. I -DO- need a wiring adaptor for s5.

I will be running FMIC.

Do you guys have any pictures? That is a GREAT price if you are duplicating the FEED unit.
