gasket between primary fuel rail/block
i'm finnaly putting my motor back together,and i know there was a gasket between the primary fuel rail and the block,but my gasket kit does not have one in it,and i really dont wanna wait till next week when mazda can get it in,couse i wanna put the rest of my intake together and stuff.....whats this thing for??there is no liquids there....is it to prevent heat transfer?whats it made of?[i threw the old one out 3 month back]can i just use some gasket material and make one?how thick,thou-would not wanna mess up where the injectors sit...any ideas?

That little black plastic oval thing? it's a spacer to keep the injectors lined up correctly in the rail. I "suppose" you could fake it with a couple washers... It would be even better if you still have your old one.

I am going through the same ****. Believe me, it's not worth it to rig something up. I did that and gas was leaking (very bad thing). I decided that the best and safest thing to do was go to Mazda and buy the OEM stuff. It cost < $4 each. Jay
