gasket between primary fuel rail/block
i'm finnaly putting my motor back together, and i know there was a gasket between the primary fuel rail and the block, but my gasket kit does not have one in it,and i really dont wanna wait till next week when mazda can get it in,couse i wanna put the rest of my intake together and stuff.....whats this thing for??there is no liquids there....is it to prevent heat transfer?whats it made of?[i threw the old one out 3 month back]can i just use some gasket material and make one?how thick,thou-would not wanna mess up where the injectors sit...any ideas?

That little black plastic oval thing? it's a spacer to keep the injectors lined up correctly in the rail. I "suppose" you could fake it with a couple washers... It would be even better if you still have your old one.

damm...i was woried that might be the case.i guess i'm gonna have to wait for mazda to get it in.:(

I am going through the same shit. Believe me, it's not worth it to rig something up. I did that and gas was leaking (very bad thing). I decided that the best and safest thing to do was go to Mazda and buy the OEM stuff. It cost < $4 each. Jay
