gas tank

I welded a -10 fitting on the bottom of my gas tank and now everytime my sx pump pulls, it picks up a lot of rust ,that never happened before so i drained the tank and no rust came out ,i am not going to coat inside the tank cause the c 16 eats it away and makes it clog the injectors ,is there any remedy for this or whats the easiest way to wash the tank out and get rid of the rust, and dont tell me to get a new tank,Looks like once you weld on the tank it eats away the inside lining and makes it rust.

I had no problems welding a sump into my stock tank. What did you use?

There are several products for cleaning out gas tanks, that don't coat them. A search of the ent should pull up a few products. Usually they involve removing the gas tank, adding the fluid, and a small piece of chain and shaking the **** outta the tank.

Are you running a prefilter to your pump?

Did you just weld on an iron bung? Or was it aluminum?

Just checking... still confused as to why welding would cause your tank to rust.

Was there a factory coating on the inside? I'm kind worried now. I think I'll be dropping my tank first thing I do when I get home.
