Gas Mileage
ok...
I read the stuff on poor gas mileage
but
I was wondering if hte ignition system
kits really imporve your gas mileage
for example the jacobs ignition system
does it really work? or are there any that really
work?
and are there any ways to improve gas
even slightly?
and another ?
For my tII i should be putting in premium
gas? or is 87 safe?
Your help would be very appreciated.

changing the plugs and wires should help mileage. Even if you use the stock stuf. Other ways to improve gas would be a lighter right foot, new air filter(cone if possible), a free flowing exhaust. cleaning the injectors, consistent fluid changes.
The TII is supposed to run on 87 but most people here agree that the higher the octane the better but I think this is for moddified cars.

Also would a bad clutch make mpg lower?
cuz it needs a new clutch. It makes a whining sound
constantly and it's annoying. The clutch is almost
out.

here's what will improve your fuel economy in order of importance:
- full exhaust system upgrades
- tuneup with wires & plugs
- replacing failing TPS
- recovering HP by removing smog pump, ac, power steering
- full intake upgrades
- Aamaco gas
- Ignition upgrades
Here's what worsens fuel economy:
- clogged intake/catalytic converter
- 25K+ miles since last tuneup
- ported motor (ECU adds more fuel to compensate for more air)
- goofing with the timing
- "chip" upgrades
- full exhaust system upgrades

So would changing the injectors
to bigger ones worsen the mpg?
I think its common sense that it would,
but maybe there a chance that it wouldn't?
and also getting the computer adjusted for the
new injectors. Also what is a good aftermarket
intake system for fc?

Intake and Exhaust upgrades only help gas mileage if you dont have a lead foot. If you rev your motor up with these mods you flow more air through your motor, and more air means more fuel. Check your tire pressure, that could have an effect on gas mileage.

Keep Right Except to Pass
I think it is generally accepted that aftermarket ignition systems will give you a one or two mpg improvement.
I would never run anything but premium fuel in a boosted car.
