Gas Consumption Help.

Iv had my rx-7 for over a year now and the gas consumption sucks. I get 250 km a tank . Is there anything i can do to resolve the problem.

get used to it or buy an econobox. Actually, if you shift at 3200 rpms it is supposed to help, but i find that the difference isn't really worth it. replacing the air filter is also supposed to help, but who really knows. 7's aren't known for their gasmileage

Factory mileage was 17 city, 23 highway (or something thereabouts). If you're getting significantly worse than this and not driving it insanely hard, bloody well fix it! If you're into the gas hard and shifting at 6500 RPM every single time, yes, fuel economy will suck.

Air filter, spark plugs, plug wires, fuel filter.

Send your injectors in to be cleaned. Really. They've probably got almost 20 years of buildup in them.

Make sure your TPS is adjusted properly. This controls decel fuel cut & the idle loop.

First, get a compression check on the motor - if it's low, this is the culprit.
