Galloping Idle
Hey all, solved the injector/fuel line probs now I'm left with the "galloping" idle. The exhaust has the stock precat still on it. The precat is riddled with leaks and probably clogged—the thing blows exhaust up into the engine bay. My question is, would the exhaust leak cause a galloping idle? I've set the TPS and the idle holds at 750, it just gallops by around 10 rpm…vroom, vroom, vroom. Thanks for the help!

Galloping idle is a sign of a dropped apex seal.
have you pulled the trailing plugs that the EGI fuse to see what it sounds like while starting?
If it gallops then too then WHOOPS.
Time for the rebuild.

I'm back. Had a lot of electrical problems and couldn't get the car started. Anyway, it's running and idling at 750 with a light gallop. It's only audible and doesn't even register on the tach. I set the TPS as per the voltage method...1v at idle, set connector jumprered and the engine warmed up. The engine was recently rebuilt with a big streetport. I've never had a streetported engine and can't even be sure if it just may be that...thanks all.
