I don't think the FC actually has any external fusable links. I think the alternator and start have some sort of fusable-link esq. thing but everything else is handled by a fuse.

What kind of electrical problems are you having?

I know I found at least 2 fusable links in my FC when I stripped the wiring for a LS1. They were located on the AC relay harness that is removable from the rest of the harness and they are taped up so you would never know that they exist if you didn't untape the harness.

One of the fusable links gave power to a ton of stuff (idiot lights, buzzers, gauges, etc..)

In all the time you've owned you car have you honestly never noticed the fuse box in the engine bay? It's not like it's hidden or anything.

He's talking about huge in-line fuses along the wiring harness that are supposed to keep a fire from occuring if you have an electrical problem so severe it ignores a blown fuse.

I didn't think teh FC had any, but I guess it may from what aram was saying.

The fuses in your underhood fusebox are fusable links. just go to the auto parts store to buy replacements and look what it says on the package.

There are NONE in a series four or five. A fusible link is shown in the Free, Online 85fsm. The Body Electrical section. It's not a conventional (modern day) fuse. They used to be located on my 82 on the left strut tower (memory).

And what do you think is in the engine bay fuse box? That's right, huge in-line fuses! They protect all of the car's electrical systems. The fact that they're a copper link in a little plastic box, as opposed to a fabric-wrapped wire, makes no difference. They do the same thing.

felix, tell your mate he's using out-of-date terms and confusing the hell out of you.
