Fuse problem!

I recently installed an e-fan that I got from a member on this forum and I also put in an Optima Redtop 75/35 battery. The fan might be bad, because there's a clicking sound when it is running, which could be the reason why I'm having a problem with the fuse that goes between the battery and the fan. I wired the fan according to instructions and it comes on by the thermoswitch, but when it is done cooling the radiator, the fuse blows and the fan doesn't come back on. I am using a 30A fuse. I bought a 40 the other day, but I have not wired it yet. Anyone think it's because the 30A is too small to handle the load? How much current does the fan draw anyway? Thanks!

well something id def. not right. usually a fan pulls its maximim cranking amps during its cold cranking stage. (the initial amps it takes to spin the blade from a stop) from what your saying it sounds like its blowing the fuse when the fan shuts off which is the opposite

well that really sucks... Hmmmm; I would say the clicking is probably the relay turning on (you are running a relay... right???). What fan is this and do you have a wire diagram you could post... can you tell us how you have it wired???

I am using a Black Magic E-fan #150 and I have it wired to the battery, green 6 pin diagnostic connector near the battery, and grounded around that area.

I tried the 40A fuse and the ground wire melted and I noticed that other grounds were smoking. I put my old fan back on after I found a good shroud.
