Funny thing when I rewired my fuel pump!! Possesed car!

Well- just rewired my fuel pump. All is well- except a funny thing happened!
I though that I would be able to still maintain the factory power wire going to the pump, and just splice off it for the "switched source" and then splice back in for the output. This would give the big wire to the battery as a supplemental wire, and not just the only power wire.

Well, funny thing- it worked fine- except the car wouldn't shut off! I started laughing my *** off.

The dash and everything was off- key in my hand, but the car was running and the S-AFC was on.
I had to snip the factory power wire going to the pump, and just have it go through the relay.

Apparanly, when wired like that, the relay will energize just fine, but won't shut of untill a wire is pulled!
Oh well.
Well... everything is done to support more boost now.. just have to wait for the breakin!!

You can do the same thing by swapping the two small wires on the alternator.

I think ill try that. LOL, jk, it sounds like you had the relay wired up wrong. but i dunno.

Anywho, hows that turbo conversion treatin' you? you have an estimate of times yet? K+ either way.

Relay was wired up fine, except the switched souce wire and the output wire were connected- it's the factory wire to the fuel pump and I didn't want to have to cut it completely off from the pump.

Yep, it confused me too, about the ignition, but obviously the circuit stayed energized!! It was pretty funny.

Anyways, no estimate of times. I still have a lot of break in to do before I can start tuning properly. I do know it's much faster than before. I'd say mid-high 13's somewhere.. doubt it's any worse than low 14's. I'd be very surprised if it was- would mean I've got something wrong!
