ok my trany was fine earlyer today. but now in 1st i can move the shifter back and forth while its in the gear, left to right pretty far. and when it goes into 2nd it goes down and kinda off to the right. then the rest of the gears the shifter is tight like ussual.

what u guys think happend??? or what causes this?

 

Your bushings are out, do a seach for shifter bushings. They're easy to replace and not horrible expensive.

 

Here is what's inside an S5 extension housing:

 

no it cant be the bushings i replaced the bushings less then a year ago. this problam is mainly in 1st gear it can move all over, then when it goes into 2nd it will go down but off to the right kinda near where 4th gear is. the rest of the gears are perfectly normal

it seems like somethins bent in the trany or somethin?? i dont really know how the insides work entirely tho so i have no clue what might cause this....
