a fun one - oil burning under the hood and a 3000 rpm idle
well I fired up the car the other day after swapping the turbo and my friend arron is laughing his *** off and screaming to turn off the car. Turns out I didnt tighten the oil return line. Well I dumped probably 1/4 quart of oil all over the engine and the ground. When I turn on the car again I have whitesmoke rising up through the hoodscoop....I figure it's burning oil. Is there any other way to get it off besides letting it burn, and is that safe to do.
other question: my car iddles at around 2500....obviously something is majorly wrong. Where do I start checking first?

yeah I tried but it's in the crevases of the turbo/mannifold and around the axle. I just have a thing against spraying water into my engine bay (came daaaaaaaaaaamn close to hyrdrolocking my gsr in the rain). Well the oil is off, and resetting the battery got the iddle down to about 1800 although when I rev to redline it comes down and stays at about 23-2400.
