???? Fuel system problems, What should I do????

I just put an 89 j-spec turbo motor into my 88 t2 and have fuel problems. The car will fire right up and only runs smooth at 2,000 rpm and above. As soon as I let my foot off of the gas, it loads the spark plugs with fuel and stalls. Then I have to do the un-flooding procedure to start it back up. I think it may be something with the cold start sensor. I could always controll this with a stand alone fuel system"Microtec LT-8" but feel that route is too expensive for me. What do you guys think?

-Thanks, Dustin
