Well I am guessing that it is not the wiring since I was measuring the resistance directly at the unit. I jumpered it mainly because I wanted to double check since I have never had an AFM go out on me before and the manual did not explicitly say what one of the measurements being off meant except that it was off.
I am going to put a best offer on one on eBay and see how it goes. I am about 98% sure it is not the wiring but the unit, though knowing this car I would not be shocked if it turned out to both and something else I never thought of until it breaks down again.

I hate how so many of the threads on this forum are abandoned I am guessing because the person figured out their problem and never clued the rest of us in.
The AFM was at fault, I put the new on there and it finally stayed running just fine. It still would not start unless I popped the clutch on a hill. Finally after searching all over the forums I found this https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...7&postcount=58 article that I tried since nothing else made sense and now it starts like a dream and every time. Granted this is mostly my fault for not mentioning that the click, click, start was getting worse but I wanted to at least let everyone else know that if your started does not sound like a jet engine starting but more like an old 80's Toyota this is a very cheap and worthy fix I would recommend to anyone.
I have decided I am either going to sell this one and get a FD or swap a V8 in here eventually but that may be some time down the road and I am glad to have my FC running again. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and especially to RotaryRocket88 for his excellent write-up I linked above and the pictures that actually showed what everyone else described in a manner I did not easily get.
