Angry fuel,spark,comp, still no start????

i have an 87 na i think the base model not sure. i took an old motor that ran but smoked and put in a different old motor in. i have everything hooked up that i can think of. the fuel pump only comes on when i jump the test connecter and i never had that problem before with the motor that was in first. well thats problem #1. i know im getting spark but the spark color was red. the engine has good compression. im getting fuel to my rail from the fuel inlet line. there is one vacuum line that i cant find where it goes ill post pics of that when i can. the motor tuns over a little slow not bad the first motor that was in it started with this starter. i did a volt drop test to check the starting system and the starter should be drawing line 10 or 11 volts its getting 7-8. i even tried to spray starting fluid in the intake and that didnt work. oh and the book told me that if i jump the fuel pump and it does not shut off the system is not pressureized and it does not shut off but when i take the inlet fuel line off there is pressure at the line i dont know what else to do.

when i had the engine out i put a good amount of 2stroke oil in each chamber and turned the engine over by hand to spread some oil around while it was sitting. could this be a reason the car wont start.

change your plugs.

I just had this issue... car was flooded, I put some oil in the motor in but probably too much, which fouled the plugs. I changed the plugs (cleaning them didn't work) and it started up fine.

Same here. I had perfect compression, plenty of fuel (checked for leaks) and checked for spark. Everything worked fine. I just cleared out the flooding and put in new plugs and it fired up like nothing ever happened.

Hope it works for you too.
