I'm changing my fuel pump strainer and I got one from autozone however the one they gave me was considerably smaller, is this ok??? Here is a pic of the two together.

As long as the allowed flow is the same, why not?

What do you have, like 6 threads going on?, lol....

hehe, yeah! I'm really determined when it comes to my car, sorry This has been a 3year long project and its so close to being finnished yet so far away. My next thread is going to be about why when I put in a brand new light switch my tail lights still don't work.

oh yeah just thought of something. I have one of those rx7.com fuel pumps that flow alot more fuel however the one I just bought is for a stock fuel pump would this matter? And where would I get another strainer if not??? Thanks.

Thats the kind that was on my 88. I don't see any problems with it. If your car starts messing up then I would see if you could get an OE part.

That is what it is supposed to be. The boxy one is just junk, it was too tall, and in a hard corner, the fuel pressure would drop dramatically and the engine would bog and almost die (at least in mine). Replacing this fixed the problem I had, and it has been running nicely ever since.
