fuel pump runs on 12v but doenst run when I try and start the car
ok I unplugged the circuit opening relay and cranked it with a new fuse and it didn't blow.
I'm getting 12v at the circuit opening relay now but I'm still not getting anything on the red/blue wires on the fuel pump resistor relay

Ok. That eliminates the Main Relay as the problem. There should not have been any voltage at the blue/red wires because the Circuit Opening Relay was pulled. See diagram:https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...postid=1398836
Reinstall the Circuit Opening Relay. Then take the plug off the Fuel Pump Resistor Relay .....the thing with the blue/red wires in the connector.
Now go crank the engine over for a few seconds and see if the fuse is blown when your done. Write back and let us know what happened.

Just trying to figure out whats blowing the fuse by elimination in the above post. If the fuse does not blow with the Circuit Opening Relay installed, and the Fuel Pump Resistor Relay pulled.......the reinstall the Fuel Pump Resistor Relay and then go pull the plug off the fuel pump. Then crank the engine to see if the fuse blows.
Just a process of elimination to figure out which part of the circuit is shorted out/busted/stuffed.

i did all the checks and stuff and couldnt find any problem so i'm just going to rewire it.... seems like the easiest way. i dont feel like tearing up the wiring harness trying to find a short
