Fuel Pump question

Fuel Pump question
So, my S4 GTU won't start. I've checked quite a few things. Spark plugs are getting a spark, I've rolled auto trans fluid through the spark plug holes, checked fuses, etc. Now I think it may be the fuel pump.
I did a ghetto test, I unhooked the fuel pump lines and put a rag under the outlets, and had a friend watch for fuel while I cranked the engine for a few seconds. No fuel came out, which is pretty much a clear indication that the pump is dead.
Now to the actual question. Will a Walbro 255LPH pump work with stock equipment? Eventually I was going to have to get one anyway because I'm doing a V8 swap in the future (yeah yeah, please no flames)
Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

the 255 will work, just make sure you wire it correctly and use the included rubber boot to make sure it doesnt wobble around in the stock sending unit/pump cage- the walbro pump is a fare amount smaller.
make sure your pulsation dampener and fuel pressure regulator are in good working shape before you install the pump. now would be a good time to invest in new soft lines as well.

Completely stock.... I think. I bought the car from some kid who bought it and then let it just sit for a few years. I'm just trying to get the damn thing running! lol.
They said it MIGHT have a street port done, but I'm not sure on the validity of that claim.
Can I check all of those things without dropping the gas tank? I'm trying to unbolt as few things as possible because almost all the bolts are breaking off and I don't have a way at the moment to drill them out.

Yeah, check for codes and stuff too because some engine error codes shut down the fuel pump. Try jumpering the fuel pump on through the yellow jumpers on the left side of the engine bay and see if it spits fuel. Check your wiring for resistance, also.
The fuel pump can be found under a metal plate right on top of the gas tank under the carpet in the back of the car.

The engine fuse isnt blown. Well, it WAS, but I replaced it so that's no longer a problem.
But yeah I've found where the fuel pump location is, it's just that the 8 or 9 bolts are rusted to hell. Eventually I'll get them out, for now I've just been soaking them in WD-40 for a few days lol.
