S4 Chassis S5 13b - Possible Sticky
I know it has been on here before and its an important thread to have, yet i cant seem to find it anywere and I have used the search function for a couple hours now. But I have a S4 FC and a S5 13b to drop in. I want to stay with stock computer and harness. I know that there are a few harness pins that need switched and the upper intake manifold and front timing cover of the S4 engine to the S5 engine. But could we take a minute to gather info and possibly save it somewhere for others to use in the future? Thanks to everyone - i know you will all have great info to share.

I think you should think about keeping the s5 upper & mid manifold so you gain a VDI. The down side is you have to find a way to activate it. I've been there & done that. It's worth some more top end power. there's some modification involved, but nothing too hard to handle.

Also try this thread - I did this swap not more than 2 months ago - https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=728943
The hardest part was fabricating my own air system for port activation - here's my thread concerning that - https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=748570
It would be alot easier to use all of your S4 manifolds & accessories, but there are some minor gains to be made & you can always put the S5 manifolds on later if you want to just get it running for the immediate future. Otherwise it's just swapping parts from one longblock to another basically. The real thing to keep in mind is that you need the throttlebody & OMP & front cover from your S4 at least. A few sensors should be swapped, I used my s4 BAC as well as injectors. Mine was a little different as the longblock I bought was an S4 block with all the S5 accessories, but that's not much of a difference.... really just the EGR valve is missing on the S5, maybe a few other minor things. Hope this helps
