My fuel pump wont turn on when the key is "ON" position. But when i hook up the jumper wire it turns on just fine. I am dead stuck and don't know what else to do!!
Anyone have suggestions?

I'm guessing you cant start the car with the jumper wire on............... Because this really sucks, i've checked the relay under the steering column and all the main fuses are fine.

um...i think its supposed to be like that. in fact, now that im looking at it, thats also what the haynes manual says. and ive done it a few times. ignition on and the terminals bridged will cause pump to be on. ignition switch on and no terminals bridged, pump shouldnt be on.

Well I cant get my car to start, and it's a fuel system problem.

does the car crank over? if it does, try putting an empty bottle on the end of the primary fuel line, crank it for like 3-4 seconds, and you should have fuel in it.

That's exactly what it's supposed to do. The pump doesn't get power unless then engine is cranking or running, or if the test connector is jumpered.

Locate the fuel pump plug under the carpet on the left rear strut tower, and put a DMM across the blue and black wires. With the jumper wire out, and the ignition on there should be no voltage. When you crank the engine it should be ~12V. If it is, electrically the pump is fine.

Checking for flow as above is a good idea.
